The new color of the year!

Pantone announced last week it’s color of the year for 2013! Every year I get so excited to hear what it is, and every year I’m so NOT SURPRISED. Talk about following fashion and interior design trends…

We’ve been seeing emerald green all over the red carpet…

And the runways….

It didn’t take long for me to find LOTS of different fashion items at my favorite stores… JCrew, Anthropologie, Banana, Nordstroms…

Obviously its been hot in interior design as well….

So what do you think? Will you be buying emerald green this holiday season? It’s fun to see rich colors coming back in style, makes your day a little bit brighter 🙂

The Most PINTERESTING Thing of the Week: December 7th

Here are my top 10 of the week!

Love this idea for a front door. Instead of having a door with sidelights, which are impossible to cover for privacy, have actual windows on each side that can have window treatments!

LOVE this… rustic distressed dining table with a glitzy chandelier over… so fun!

Now this is something I haven’t seen before… wood floor tiles! Interesting idea…

Another one of those, glad I didn’t see this when I was planning my wedding photos… this would have fit right in!

This picture seriously reminds me of my family’s farm… hmm maybe we need to convince Dad to do a sleigh ride on Christmas day? 😉

Coming to the end of the year and I’m really thinking hard about how I want to organize all of our photos. I want to make sure they are backed up and we will have them for years. Like this idea as one organized option…

And I definitely am going to do this once we get all of our Christmas pictures taken… a family “yearbook” every year…

The busier I’m getting the more I’m dreaming of organizing a home office. Someday…

I really love this chair…

And these barstools! Love that you can find barstools that are more feminine now!

…and the stockings were hung by the chimney with care

I love Christmas stockings… they are such a personal touch to a family’s Christmas decor. I was on the market for new Christmas stockings this year and thought I would share all the different beautiful stockings I came across on my search!

Pottery Barn Velvet Stockings with Faux Fur

Pottery Barn Chunky Knit Stockings

Ballard Design’s Burlap and Red Stockings

Crate and Barrel’s Frosted Stocking

Ballard Design’s Leopard and Zebra Stockings

Pottery Barn Teen Fur Stockings

West Elm’s Velvet Stockings

Etsy’s Create Your Own Stocking

And some more adorable stockings….

The Most PINTERESTING Thing of the Week: November 30th

Here are my top 10 of the week!

Love the colors of the accessories! And they are all from Homegoods 🙂

What is my obsession with front doors?

I just love this room… so comfortable

Love this eat in kitchen… so bright and fun!

Wouldn’t this be a beautiful entry way?

Such a good storage solution for homes that don’t have a ton of extra space!

Working on organizing our little office… this is great inspiration!

Vests seem to be a good option for me, I hate feeling restricted by jackets… but does it really keep you warm?

So in love

What a great nursery!

Thanksgiving Tablescapes

Well, it’s the week of Thanksgiving, and I’m still wondering where September and October went. Feeling the need to be inspired, I thought I would share with you some different tablescape ideas for your Thanksgiving table.

A very traditional table setup… love these chargers!

Love the runner on the rustic table…

A much more simple setting…

Love the pumpkins on this table

Love the antler candle holders

And how about buffet setups? I know with big families a lot of people opt to do a buffet. Here are some cute designs to dress up the food table…

Using pumpkins is an inexpensive way to add drama to the table. The size can fill spaces nicely and help to showcase the food.

Love the simplicity of this table…

With some leaves, a chalk board and candle light, you can get a quick and easy tablescape that looks like you worked for hours!

And finally, almost every Thanksgiving I’ve ever been to there has been a “kid’s table”. How about make your “kid’s table” fun and give them something to do to entertain themselves so mom and dad can have a nice relaxing meal?

A cute decorated table. Get the kids involved in helping setup the table.

Arts and crafts for them to do to decorate the table

What a great idea! Use the paper as a tablecloth and give the kids crayons and markers to draw and decorate while they are eating!

So there you have it! Hope you are a little more inspired for the Holiday! I can’t wait to see everyone’s table settings this year! Happy Thanksgiving!

The Most PINTERESTING Thing of the Week: November 2nd

Anyone notice I didn’t do a Pinterest post last week? Oops! I was crazy busy getting ready for a baby shower and had company in town!

Anyways, here are my top 10 for this week!

Cute fall outfit…

I’m really into the emerald green right now… maybe I should buy something in it?

I like the subway tile in the herringbone pattern to change it up a little…

Love this bedroom- the wall is so fun!

Preserved boxwoods- supposedly these are black thumb proof!

Front doors- love the bright colors! Something different and fun…

I am always looking for a new shade of pink lipstick! I like it when they are barely noticeable…. might have to try this one!

What a cute gift idea!

Another cute gift idea! Easy to do, inexpensive, and something so nice to have as a parent for those cute photo ops!
