Nursery Reveal: Part 3- The Finished Product

Sorry it has taken so long to post the pictures of the finished nursery… we had a little present delivered to us on June 8th… Louie is here! I will keep the details for another post ๐Ÿ™‚

Louie is really enjoying the nursery, he sleeps every night in his crib and does great! The glider chair gets plenty of use during the late night feedings, and the dresser is packed with adorable clothes we can’t wait to dress him up in!

One of the most important parts of my job is to create a beautiful space, but also a space that feels welcoming and “usable”. I can honestly say we accomplished just that with this room.

A special thanks to Diane H Photography for taking the pictures of the nursery! Stay tuned for some adorable (if I do say so myself ๐Ÿ™‚ ) newborn pictures Diane took of Louie!

Calling all bargain shoppers!!!

I love clothes, and I love fashion… but man oh man do I love a bargain! I’ve always had this thing about buying clothing in nice stores… something about the feeling you get when your purchase is hand wrapped in tissue paper with a ribbon. Well, in a dream world that would be the only kind of shopping I do. But when I climb out of my little bubble- reality sets in that we would probably be homeless before long if I always shopped that way!

Living in Woodbury, sometimes I feel like an actress in the movie,ย Stepford Wives, or a character on Desperate Housewives. Especially in my neighborhood. All the houses coordinate, everything is new, and its an absolute must that you wave to your neighbors as you drive by. But on days like yesterday, and this weekend, it makes me love where we live.

This weekend, its Woodbury Garage Sale Days! Garage sales, in my opinion, can either be a huge success, or they can be a huge waste of time. In my case yesterday, huge success!

I only took $40 cash with me, as to not get sucked into things I totally don’t need and would have no idea what to do with once the thrill of a good deal wore off. Main mission- baby clothes! This neighborhood is crawling with babies… (pun intended). And kids, and teenagers. I thought it would be nice to find some good deals for our upcoming bundle of joy.

Let me tell you… I STRUCK GOLD!

The people in this neighborhood must have the same shopping addiction that I do… some of these things still had tags on them! And everything was name brand… Ralph Lauren, Baby Gap, Nautica, Tommy Hilfiger, Gymboree… RIDICULOUS, and very exciting ๐Ÿ™‚

In total I spent $32 for:

7 pairs of shorts

2 pairs of sweatpants

10 shirts

1 pair of swim trunks

1 hat

and 1 receiving blanket.

A few outfits I can’t wait for our little man to wear: (they are 12-18 months so I will have to wait a little while)

Besides our neighborhood… I also stopped at Just Between Friends, basically a large organized garage sale at the Bielenberg Sports Center in Woodbury. A great place to find a lot more clothes for kids, all organized by size and gender. Prices were a little higher than the garage sales but the condition of the clothing was better too. They are open today, and tomorrow. (everything on Saturday is 1/2 off!)

If you are into finding a bargain, I highly suggest you hit Woodbury up this weekend! Like me, you wont regret it ๐Ÿ˜‰
